John Thickstun has been a plaintiff’s trial attorney for over 40 years.  He has litigated hundreds of cases in State Courts, Federal District Courts and US Bankruptcy Courts. He has handled a broad range of civil matters including catastrophic personal injuries, wrongful death, sexual harassment, construction defect, business litigation, class action and mass torts.

He is a member of the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum and the Million Dollar Advocate Forum whose members are United States trial lawyers who have received million and multi-millions jury verdicts and settlements. John is a trained meditator, having completed the National Conflict Resolution Center training.

​

He received his BA with Honors in American History with dual minors in Economics and American Literature from the University of California San Diego.  He received his JD from California Western School of Law.

John represents hundreds of wildfire survivors, including those who suffered loss in the Sonoma Complex Fire, comprised of the Tubbs Fire, Nuns Fire, and Pocket Fire, which burned over 110,000 acres, took 24 lives, and destroyed over 5,000 homes and the Camp Fire, which destroyed the town of Paradise, burning over 150,000 acres, taking 85 lives, and destroying over 19,000 structures.

 

John also represents survivors of the McKinney Fire, Mosquito Fire, Creek Fire, as well as other fires.
