On Tuesday, January 7th, 2025, the devastating Eaton fire swept through Altadena, and changed the lives of thousands of Altadena residents forever. This fire obliterated much of beloved Altadena, rich in historical and cultural significance, took seventeen lives, and destroyed thousands of homes.

The Altadena fire lawsuit alleges this fire could have been prevented by Southern California Edison, if only it had properly shut down the power grid, and followed through on several years of plans to curb the dangers in the system.

Through a combination of drone images, satellite imagery from the time of the fire, eyewitness accounts, county bulletins and other sources, the evidence shows a careful minute by minute account of how the fire evolved as a result of electrical poles and a failure to completely shut off the grid. The evidence points clearly to liability for Southern California Edison, a privately owned utility.

It is time to seek justice, and to find a road to recovery for the victims.

How the Lawsuit Can Help You

1. Psychological or Physical Harm:

Many people suffered physical or psychological losses whose value goes beyond any government assistance or insurance. The only way to give a voice to these claims is by collecting the testimony of the victims, compiling personal accounts, and assembling the evidence to tell each person’s story.

2. Underinsured:

Many people affected by the fire are underinsured for their losses, or have no insurance at all. The Altadena Wildfire Lawsuit is a way for residents of Altadena who suffered significant harm and were underinsured to recover the difference between the harm and their insurance claims.

3. Everyone Should Join

There is no out-of-pocket cost to join the lawsuit. It is important that all residents of Altadena join the lawsuit. The more persons join, the more negotiating power they will have, and the more likely there will be state or potentially federal assistance to ensure the Wildfire’s Victim Trust is fully funded.
